Biography
Ian Waldie is a professional photographer with over 20 years experience capturing the moments that count from over 20 countries worldwide. As a senior photographer for Reuters and Getty Images, he has been acclaimed with over a dozen internationally recognized photography awards, including being named three-times UK photographer of the year by the British Picture Editors Guild.
Ian has extensive experience in the organisation and coverage of events such as the Olympic Games, World Cups in Football, Rugby and Cricket, APEC, European elections, international trade and business conferences, royal weddings, London and Sydney Fashion weeks, conflict zones and state funerals including those of the Queen Mother and Princess Diana. His work has been published in virtually every newspaper and magazine worldwide including Time, Newsweek, National Geographic and the London and New York Times.
Now based in Australia as a freelance, Ian's portfolio has expanded to include creative, corporate and architectural commissions, editorial features, and magazine assignments.
Ian's style borrows from his background in art. Visually distinctive, his work captures fleeting moments often unseen by television or other visual media.
